Regional Climate Portrait – Eeyou Istchee James Bay, northern Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Nunavik 2022

We are pleased to invite you to a knowledge transfer activity, where the results of the project on the Regional Climate Portrait in reference and future climate in support of the analysis of impacts and adaptation to climate change in the territory of Eeyou Lstchee James Bay, northern Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Nunavik Project CC22.1 will be presented to you.
The objective of the project was to provide the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) with the most up-to-date information on current (1991-2020) and future (2041-2070 and 2071-2100) climatic and hydrological conditions in the regions under its responsibility: Northern Quebec (Eeyou-Istchee Baie-James EIBJ and Nunavik) and Northern Abitibi-Témiscamingue (A-T). Teams from Ouranos, the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), the Direction de l’expertise hydrique (DEH) of the Ministère de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MELCC) and the Centre de recherche d’Hydro-Québec (CRHQ) pooled their expertise to conduct the analyses and produce the results for the climatological indicators of temperature (15) precipitation (4), snow on the ground (2) and ice (4), for extreme precipitation indicators and hydrological indicators (3).
