About the Cree Social Economy Roundtable

The Cree Nation Government’s Department of Commerce and Industry is moving forward with the reactivation of the Cree Social Economy Round Table (CSERT), with new engagement activities now underway.

In the coming months, outreach will begin in Eastmain and Waskaganish, with plans to expand to other communities across Eeyou Istchee.

As part of this work, a community voices survey will be shared to gather input directly from community members on local priorities, challenges, and opportunities. The survey will help shape upcoming discussions and ensure that what is heard reflects the realities in each community.

Community visits will also take place across the region, bringing together local leadership, service providers, and community members to share perspectives, identify opportunities, and help guide next steps.

Together, the survey and engagement sessions will:

· Hear directly from communities about their priorities

· Identify opportunities for community-led initiatives

· Highlight barriers that have made it difficult to move projects forward

· Support the development of tools and approaches that respond to community needs

This work will help ensure that the Social Economy Round Table moves forward with strong community input, grounded in the voices and priorities of Cree communities.
